Original artwork description:

Acrylic painting depicting a view from An Corran Beach on the Isle of Skye Scotland.
This s a very pretty and interesting part of Skye, it is situated close to the larger beach at Staffin Bay.
The Beach became famous in 2002 when a lady walking her dog discovered dinosaur footprints here. They can be spotted today just beside the jetty amongst the rocks and seaweed.
The dramatic rocks and mountains surrounding this area give the area a real ancient prehistoric atmosphere- perfect for Dinosaurs.
I have tried to capture some of that feeling in this painting by using dramatic light and dark an movement.
Also in the foreground and beach I have use some medium grain texture to help convey the ruggedness of the scene.
The painting has finally been coated in two coats of protective varnish.
Please note that you are looking at a photograph of a recent painting uploaded onto a screen and as with all photographs some colour discrepancies can occur.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint with some texture medium
