Following on from my guinea fowl series, I painted this beautiful chicken after a trip to my local Llama Park in East Sussex on the fringes of the Ashdown Forest. It had such stunning plumage, I was keen to capture it in paint. I've moved beyond my references, creating a moody environment, where the vibrant reds and creamy whites play against the foreboding atmosphere.
