An archeological memory of Bettie Page – 13-11-18
The reference picture I used was slightly different from the one I used for ‘The revelation of Bettie Page (2018)’. I kept it for quite some time but finally saw a great looking sphinx coming from her arm. The difficulty was to create three different images in one: her body, the sphinx and also the incorporation of the fox / dog figure I used before. After all, who wants to conflict with no nipple policies nowadays. I probably use this drawing as a reference for a painting to come.
Graphite pencil drawing (Pentel 0.5 mm, 3B) on Canson Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) - A4 format)
