Flamingos are very beautiful birds and these ones are showing off their brightly coloured plumage to full effect.
I like to paint animals and most particularly birds with brilliant colours.
In this painting I particularly like the orange reflections from the flamingos in the blue-green water, and the way the still water becomes agitated around their legs. This gives me the opportunity to add many different shades of green and blue to the water.
