Acrylics, oil sticks, pastels, calligraphy ink, charcoal and pencils on raw canvas

Amor Fati’ is an idea central to Stoic philosophy, which denotes the acceptance and love of one’s fate. Far from being a mystic and overly optimistic prospective, this principle is something I am proud to be able to embracing at this stage in life, which is to see all experiences, both positive and negative, as necessary elements of a rational and ordered universe. So this painting is about perceiving unexpected changes and adversities as opportunities for growth and supercharged resilience. Been there?

Materials used:

Acrylics, oil sticks, pastels, calligraphy ink, charcoal and pencils on raw cotton canvas
