Artwork description:

This is an architectural detail study of one of the beautifully intricate privacy screens at Amer Fort (also called Amer Palace, Amber Fort or Amber Palace) which is perched on the top of a hill above the city of Amer close to Jaipur in Rajasthan.
These latticed screens were designed to allow the queens and ladies to watch the proceedings of the royal court in privacy.
The architectural style of Amer Palace is a blend of Hindu and Muslim influences, built out of sandstone and marble, and contains a series of impressive palaces, gardens, temples and halls. It was built by Raja Man Singh in 1592, and the following three predecessors over a time-span of about two centuries.
Amer Fort is also listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
