Amelia's Dress is one of a series of dress portraits from my 'Out of the Wardrobe' series and was made using layers of textured gesso, watercolour and inks. I let the ink 'bleed' out from the edges of the dress to enhance the ethereal quality of the garment. Amelia was the given name of Charles Dickens' forlorn bridge 'Miss Havisham' and the dress is loosely based on my idea of her wedding dress.
3 more of my dress paintings were selected for the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour exhibition and exhibited at the Mall Galleries 2018 and 2019.
Paintings from this series have been sold to collectors from USA, Uk, Australia and Germany.
I am selling this painting unframed to be able to offer free shipping. However, if you are interested in purchasing it framed please enquire re: additional costs.
