As the buds of the Amarylis unfolded I just had to paint a big picture ( 56cm x 44cm) of the beautiful flowers. I feel that only working with watercolours is it possible to combine delicacy and detail with the sense of movement and fragility which these flowers have. A moment captured on paper, or at least that was my intention. I hope I have succeeded.
