Original artwork description:

On one of my many visits to beautiful Tyrol, Austria, I painted this view of Aldrans, the village where my two daughters live, from the slopes above it. It was a sunny autumn day and so there was plenty of colour and the greens and oranges of the meadows contrast with the muted tones of the mountains. There is also the suggestion of the mist forming in the valley as the day comes to an end. The location is on a sunny plateau above the city of Innsbruck which allows a view of the Nordkette, or “North Chain” of the Karwendel alps. Aldrans is one of many charming alpine villages in the Innsbruck region and one that is close to my own heart because of my family links there.

Alpine Village, Aldrans was painted on 600g Hahnemühle mould-made paper using Windsor and Newton watercolour paints. It comes mounted in a white mount to fit a cm. to cm frame.

Materials used:

600g mould-made cotton rag watercolour paper, Windsor and Newton watercolour paints
