Alpha, I hold my head high with confidence and surety. I know who I am. My family looks to me and I will defend them with all I am. I will lead them and keep them safe for I am a champion, I am Alpha.
Alpha is a contemporary painting using abstract expressionist techniques juxtaposed against fine art detail. The painting is full of dynamic energy and texture. Alpha has been created using free movement of fluid paint to define the shape of the wolf then enhanced with strong palette knifed areas of colour. Thickly applied strokes of oil paint represent the shaggy coat of the wild wolf whilst small gold flecks add depth and interest to the painting.
