I went to Brampton Woods in the early evening. I expected it to be busy with people like me wanting a walk amongst the bluebells. To my delight I was the only one there! I had them all to myself (and Alfie the dog). We wandered up and down the network of small paths getting up close and personal with stitchwort - like white stars in amongst the blue, wild primrose - studding the path edges like pale yellow confetti.
The light was soft and warm and this painting was inspired by a photo I took of the flowers against a tree which provided a perfect foil for the texture and sparkling colours of the sea of flowers.
The painting is supplied in a white/cream mount and is ready for framing.
