Artwork description:

A solitary tree surrounded by snowfields on the top of Cusop Hill near Hay-on-Wye, Wales.

I make my prints using a cotton-based watercolour paper that emphasises the subtle colours and textures of the grasses, bark and other natural elements in the scene. The resulting print is quite unlike a normal "photographic" print as it is matt, highly textured and has a distinct "painterly" look.

The frame is a glassless wooden "floatframe". There is a small space around the mounted print which makes the print appear to "float" within the frame.

Materials used:

100% cotton mould-made textured "watercolour" paper.
