After my last vintage floral paintings from the collection of garden paintings have gone to their new owners, other flower painting ideas met me in the mountains near my fondly loved the medieval town of Сaссamo.

So meet new botanical painting. Today it is almond blossom artwork.
I think when you hear the title of the painting Almond Blossom, you immediately think of Van Gogh. But today is not a homage to Van Gogh almond tree painting, today is naked spring inspiration full of love and admiration for my beautiful Sicily in the almond flower painting.

I think that painting with a palette knife is ideal for floral painting. What better way to capture the amazing play of colours and sunshine in the transparent petals than by the live mixing of paint when creating flower painting art?
