Artwork description:

An original hand printed reduction linocut in 2 colours.
I took the photographs and made drawings before 'designing' this print. Everything has been done during the pandemic on lockdown walks and in my home studio.
The images are all from Muswell Hill, Alexandra Palace and the surrounding areas in North London. 'Ally Pally' or the people's palace is an iconic building and I've meant to create a print from it for years (I have done some designs for fabric and mugs in the past but never a linocut). The title refers to some of the images and lockdown as we come out or 'unlock' and return to a slightly more normal life.
I love exploring texture, pattern and colour through printmaking and have explored these in the different marks made and the layering of coloured inks.
