Original artwork description:

All those rocks at Kuala Jasin, Endau Rompin Park , 2004
acrylic colour on handmade Thai mulberry paper (kada sa), deckled edge, 22 x 31.5 in., 56 x 80 cm.
This is a piece inspired by an outing with other artists to one of Malaysia’s national parks. In the park I did much sketching. This painting was done later in studio using my recollection and sketches for reference.
The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It’s a thick parchment paper, strong yet pliable. The paper is made to this size to get the unique, uneven deckled edges which adds to the overall textural effect…
The close up pictures are to get a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s me holding up the painting for a perspective view.
