George Harrison fans of a certain age will know that 'All Things Must Pass' is the title of Harrison's first highly successful post Beatles album (for younger readers an 'album' is a grooved plastic pancake which emits noise via a vibrating nail when rotated at a constant speed of 33 1/3 'revs per minute' on a 'turntable'). The title of Harrison's album is not derived from the instructions the manager of an alien football team gives at half time, or even what a parent tells a worried child who has swallowed a piece of Lego, but instead comes from the poem 'All Things Pass' by US cod psychologist turned drug addled counterculture scamp, Timothy Leary. We can but hope that Leary, in turn, took time off from debauchery to discover and adapt his own title from nothing less than the Bible (Matthew 24: 6-8).:'... for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom....'
