My inspiration for Alienation was the b-grade Hollywood science fiction movies of the 1950s. Post-war society was paranoid about UFOs. In my painting Hedy Lamarr is wandering through the desert looking dazed with a UFO hovering in the background. To create an uneasy, tense atmosphere I used a garish yellow green glow across the whole painting
