Original artwork description:

This artwork is part of a series of portrait that represent mental illness.
Alessitimia (Alexithymia in english) is a personality trait characterized by the the inability to recognize and describe or express one's own emotions and feelings. The word comes from Ancient Greek and literally means "no words for emotions".
The figure represented has a neutral expression and quite a few pieces of the puzzle are missing in some areas of the face, those that usually help people understand what emotion the person is feeling. All this helps to emphasize the lack of emotions and tries to let the viewer experierence a small part of the everyday life of a person suffering of alexithymia.
The pieces disposition is tear-shaped, to symbolize a tear in the relational life of the subject, which is far more difficult because of the lack of the emotional part (essential for human interaction)

The artwork will be sold with an MDF black frame and a plexiglas panel.

Size without frame: 59.4 x 42 cm (23,4 x 16,5 in)
Size including frame: 75 x 55 x 1,5 cm (29,5 x 21,7 x 0,6 in)

The artwork is hand-signed and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The framed artwork is ready to hang in a very protective package and shipped by traceable courier.
