Original artwork description:

Alésia has to do with the Gallic times in france. It is the name given to this battle where Julius Cesar manage to defeat the Gaulish chieftain Vercingetorix and his tribes. It is today an archeological site with remains signs of what happen then. The painting relate to the site the way one could imagine from above the site of this battlefield knowing what took place there. To what extent the painting says something about this battle? More than the rendering or the representation of the event the painting is the event itself, what took place in the workshop of the artist in an autonomous kind of way, making it a lookalike of the site.

Acryl paint, canvas, wooden strecher, light varnish and string.
