Painted en plein air (French foe "in the open air/outside") at the Albion Cove on the Mendocino coast. I liked the many diagonals in the shapes of cliffs.
Materials used in creating this artwork: Gouache paint on watercolor paper expertly mounted on Gatorfoam panel. Gouache is very closely related to watercolor. It uses the same gum Arabic binder, but has more pigment which is not ground as finely as watercolor. Professional gouache colors are so opaque and vibrant, because they have the highest pigment load of any other painting medium.
The painting is unframed and will require a frame to hang on the wall.
No glass needed when framing, as the painting is protected with coats of archival varnish.
gouache, cold press paper, Gatorfoam panel, archival varnish
