‘Akihabara Lights' is a striking original hummingbird painting by British artist Sian Storey, and part of an ongoing series of paintings inspired by the beauty of Japan.
A long, rectangular canvas sized at 30x100cm and 5cm depth, Sian used acrylic and spray paint to create this vibrant and beautiful painting. The colours of neon yellow, hot pink and seafoam green truly glow as if they are charged with electric and create a luminous backdrop to the fiery hummingbirds in flight.
There are flashes of gold spray paint that catch the light with a shimmering effect.
Look closely and you’ll also see cute origami paper all the way from Japan pasted onto the painting.
The painting is signed by the artist Sian Storey on the front and reverse, and will be a stunning addition to your art collection.

‘Akihabara Lights' was painted in Sian Storey’s studio in leafy Hampshire during summer 2018. Sian paints in layers, giving the painting a sense of depth. Using acrylics and spray paint, you'll see detailed, delicate brushwork and beautiful mists of spray paint. You’ll also see Japanese origami paper pasted onto the painting.
