Air and Water is a beautiful new painting by the realist seascape painter Christopher Witchall. This large oil painting on canvas measures 36 x 36 inches (90 x 90cm).

The painting is inspired by the power and beauty of nature and continues Witchall’s preoccupation with the movement and colours of the ocean, a movement frozen in time between the ancient past and an endless future.

The artist’s unsentimental approach to his subjects combine two great passions - a love of traditional painting techniques and a fascination with the photographic image. The result of this are paintings that are both painterly and highly realistic.
