This picture is from a cycle of observations of life at the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Again and again, every day the elderly couple came to the sea. They usually spent the whole day in the shade of a tree, slowly drinking tea. For a whole year I happened to meet these people on the way to the beach, and yesterday I met again. And this inspires hope and faith in the inviolability of the world.

The tree under which the couple took refuge looks like the tree of life.
