This abstract was painted in mid June 2020. The painting's title "Aftermath" reflects the feeling of something that has passed, but you are not sure if it will come back. It is based on some previous paintings showing a white path and the overall feeling is optimistic. The brown and copper uppermost paint layer was removed whilst wet using a silicon-tipped brush and rapid horizontal and vertical lines. The resultant shapes remind Phil of buildings, which, as we have all been so confined recently, seems appropriate.
Acrylic paint brushed over canvas. Additional paint added and selected areas of wet paint removed with a silicon-tipped brush.
