Original artwork description:

I trimmed my lavender plants, plonked some in a pot and quickly painted the purple and green colours of the leaves.
Then I proceeded to paint over and around the shapes to create an abstract painting.
Abstract art is art that does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead use shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect.
However, my abstract art mostly has its origins in a known object.
The artist Alice Neel said there is no such thing as abstract art, as the eye cannot paint what it has not seen.
