Original artwork description:

With the progress of society and technology, uncounted historical sites were destroyed and few left.

The Chang An Left gate was demolished in 1952 and replaced by new street.
I first carved the gate, then destroied and re-carve1952, because it is gone. Then I put the 1952 in new city progress ...

As you see, this artwork is very special and different with my previous paintings.
There were many many different types of old gates around Old Beijing, 99% has vanished.

They need special protection as we protect pandas.

NOTE :

The LINES was created by knife carving on oil material. This is my unique artistic style.

This painting need to be framed to hung up.

--------- Stories About Yuan hua Jia's Art Style ---------

Yuan hua Jia works mainly in oil and acrylic paintings. His works were shown in many big exhibitions of many countries, some are collected by important people and collectors.

Using knife to carve on the surface of paint is his most representative form of creation, and it is also the most significant sign and feature that distinguishes him from other artists.

This form of painting is extremely difficult. First, the canvas is soft and elastic. So the hand needs to be very steady. Secondly, affected by temperature and humidity, the paint surface will dry within 24-72 hours. Therefore, the carving must be completed accurately within a limited time. Each line will determine the progress and detail of the entire painting. Once the paint starts to dry on the surface, you can't continue but throw it away and start over. The larger the picture size and the more complex the content that needs to be engraved, the greater the risk of failure and the more canvases will be thrown away. There was once a 100x80cm work that failed more than a dozen times and took a year and a half to finally be completed.

In addition to this art form, he also creates works in other artistic styles. Each artistic style of work reflects his unique perspective and ideas. Each work has its own story, which is his insights into his careful observation and experience of life.
