Original artwork description:

Africa woman in pink' is an original acrylic painting by me on a canvas board. As with much of my work I have used both palette knives and brushes to create this artwork. My husband and I took numerous photographs on our trips to Kenya and Durban and it is from these that I draw inspiration for my African themed art. The expression of the woman and the pink head cover caught my eye initially and I have particularly enjoyed painting her. A one of a kind unique painting, hand painted and signed by me. As with many of my acrylic paintings the more detailed subject sits on a textured, abstract backdrop that has been created using palette knives, thus giving the piece something of a contemporary feel despite the portraiture nature of the painting.
