I have always loved and am strongly influenced by the shapes, colours and cultural objects that I encountered living in and travelling the South African rural areas with my father. I also worked part-time for an African Art Centre in Hillcrest and got to see, draw and enjoy a wide variety of cultural objects and sculptures from all over Africa.
