It's human instinct to connect with nature and other living things. This idea is fundamental to biophilic design, where natural materials, shapes, light, and patterns build a connection to nature within the human constructed environment to help promote wellness, creativity, and productivity. Biophilia is the wellspring of my abstract painting practice. "Affinity (The Nature of Kinship)" celebrates the unsung beauty of plants and our relationship with them—they feed us, they clothe us, they heal us. They create the very oxygen we breathe.

"Affinity (The Nature of Kinship)" is a layered abstract expressionist plantscape of simple lines, organic and geometric forms, and positive energy. Gestural marks interface with black and metallic gold forms on white. Please see additional photos for details.

Full size is 48H x 38W inches, leaving ample canvas to stretch to its 43H x 33W inch image as shown. This elegant and striking painting is signed on back and ships, carefully prepared, rolled in a tube. This is the safest method for larger works. Rolled works can be easily stretched (placed onto wooden stretcher bars) by a local framer upon arrival.
