Original artwork description:

The composition/design for Aerial Interpretation 11 was born from looking at photos taken by his DJI drone. He agrees with Hans Hoffman that all abstract painting is rooted in the real - a landscape or a figure or a still life.
As the painting develops, he keeps in mind the modern art idea that the medium itself (paint, charcoal, graphite, etc.) has an equal voice as the drawing/composition in telling the story on canvas. The lines, the drips, the thick and thin paint, the runs are all part of the conversation.
He also agrees with Barnett Newman that its the content that attracts and keeps the viewer engaged. He hopes Aerial Interpretation 10 has interesting content and color and design.
