Original artwork description:

The sketch painting "Admiring the peaks 1" was painted in 2017 during the ascent of Elbrus with a sketchbook. Separately, you can read about the ascent of 2017 in the blog of the artist Sergei Seregin.

The work was painted from nature, right on the spot, in the foothills of the Elbrus. A warm dry day, the middle of summer, you lift up your head – the sky and the top as a direction indicator.
The work was painted not with a broad brushstroke, but with a gentle and tremulous one. Delicate. It is as if the invisible code of the foothills is woven together with the fibers of the canvas into the soul of the painting. I wanted to capture not only the aesthetics of the place, the beauty, but also the scent of pine trees, air, warm light, a pleasant breeze, a feeling of happiness and delight that pressed my chest.
An hour after the completion of "Admiring the peaks 1", the second etude was started. The mild evening was already creeping up on its half-dazed legs. The air was getting fresher and shady. This was reflected in the work "Admiring the peaks 2". In any case, two brother studies were born on the same day, in the same breath. They are connected by the same format and the general spirit of the place and a hot summer day on Elbrus.
