In this collection, the artist intends to tackle the enigma of his own image, an identity that in many is equivocal, shadowed, counterfeit. In fact, the faces portrayed show thoughtful expressions some, others absent, obscure, fascinating, penetrating, involved by the common need to "be such" and not to "have to appear". The search for one's own identity, which leads to true knowledge of oneself. The awareness that life is all semblance.
In these works, the pictorial composition draws on purely figurative elements to merge them into an abstract context, where colour in fluid form emanates energy. The artist discharges these energies onto the canvas, the unconscious is an inspirational part of the composition, in a timeless dimension.
