Original artwork description:

Across the way, balconies, the neighborhood can be so crowded, that's the complete text.
Color sumie inks on indian raw paper about 300gm weight, 15 x 22 in., 38x 56 cm.
This is a handmade paper from the Gandhi co-op industries in India. It is not an acid free paper, and has indeed yellowed over time, while the colour of these traditional paints is as fresh as the day it was painted.
I don’t do much illustration type work nowadays, though the urge is always there. This one goes way back. And it’s a sweet reminder from my time residing in Bandra, Bombay, now Mumbai. My paintings in that period were done on location... the view from my balcony ... of the building across the way!
Close up pictures help to get a feel for texture and colour. Then there’s me with the artwork for perspective.
