These bees are hand-cut from a watercolour painting which has splatters of gold ink across it. The painting was inspired by the patterns you find on Silent Pool gin, hence the name :)
I masked off a square, on a blank piece of watercolour paper, that I wanted the bees to sit on, and also splattered gold ink across that too.
The bees were then decoratively arranged in lines and attached to the paper on tiny wooden plinths,
To add more three dimensionality I've angled the wings upwards, and then framed within a deep white box frame. The frame is glazed with perspex.
Watercolour paper, soft wood plinths, watercolours, ink, hardwood frame
