I often think of the road as the path of life. Sometimes happiness smiles on us and our path seems to be downhill. Many times, however, obstacles and difficulties make our path seem uphill.
But if we look carefully around us, all the colours of the forest, together with the lights and shadows, seem to accompany and even inspire our ascent.
Or it is their beauty that fills our eyes and hearts with joy and gives us the strength to continue climbing.
This work is dedicated to all those who, in spite of difficulties, manage to go on with a smile and the joy of life, that is to say, to follow their own path of ascent.

This painting was done in the studio in September 2023. It is a reworking of several studies done en plein air.
The work is painted in oil on Masonite, a panel of compressed wood fibre. Masonite is a material that was widely used by artists in the first half of the 20th century as a support for their paintings because it is extremely strong and crushproof. I love painting on this material because its very smooth surface allows me to achieve effects that cannot be achieved on other materials. I also have the guarantee of high durability.
The signature is on the bottom right.
The painting is protected by a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work comes with a thin white wooden frame to protect the edges. It is ready to hang.
The work is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
"I go up accompanied by colours" is a literal translation of the original Italian title "Salgo accompagnato dai colori".
