This drawing was the first where I began to cut away at the paper after completing the drawing. It features a hotel called the Copperqueen, built at the turn of the century in Bisbee, AZ. This town had a large population in the late 1800's because of the profitable mining industry. The surrounding landscape still bears the scars from that time period. This drawing uses both the architecture and the affected land of this region to depict a surrealistic view of what exists there today.
