I was born and grew up in a house with a huge pink hydrangea shrub in the garden. Last summer I traveled on the land of hydrangeas, an island where everywhere were hydrangeas, all the colors I could imagine and never imagined were there.

Part of my TEXTURAL IMPRESSIONISM series, this painting depicts a gorgeous bouquet of vibrant pink hydrangeas painted in impasto technique, in bold,spontaneous, gestural, explosive palette knife strokes that create those almost sculptural textures of oil paint that I love so much.
