An abstract landscape in muted blues and golds.

I began this series in 2020 during the covid 19 lockdown. During this time I felt I no longer wanted to paint with restrictions of lines and forms, instead I moved towards loose lines and curves to enjoy complete freedom on the paper.
These paintings helped promote a feeling of calm and peace during a time of intensely magnified emotions.

The horizontal lines and the soft sinking effect promote a calming feeling, the clouds make me want to take a deep soothing breath. Look closely on the smaller details to enjoy the textures within the "trees".

This is painted on Fabriano paper, a beautiful, heavy, textured watercolour paper.
