Abstract colour series - Feminine.
Typically with abstracts I prefer not to give to many thoughts away, as I would rather the work connect to a collector based on there own interpretation.
This work tho is part of Artfinder promotion of International women's day collection against high end Art World Sexism. I wanted to depict femininity with use of colour. However I also wanted to convey that in the art world female artists are just as known to be confrontational, strong, independent and determined as there male counterparts. I feel I achieved this with use of shape. The easy approach would have been to use circular, curves and lines to abstractly depict the female form. Here I have consciously made use of irregular shapes with minimal clean edges.
Simple. Elegant. Unique. Fresh. Inspired.

COLOUR ABSTRACT SERIES
What i enjoy about abstract art is that it blurs the line between recognizable and unrecognizable. Shape, Colour, Line work, Emotion, Exploration, Planned, Spontaneous, Depth, Shade, Light invite the viewer to find, connect or simply admire the work for their own reasons. As i paint i recreate a part of my own story. As you view you create your own. It is for this reason, this series of abstracts with have vague titles and little to no description.
Liquitex Acrylic and Old Holland Oil Paint on canvas, UV Varnished, Ready to hang.
