Original artwork description:

I created three paintings using Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion on heavy watercolour paper.
They were painted in different swirling lines and shapes using the colours Pale Powder, Parma Gray and Stiffkey Blue, and I also used gold ink.

Each of the three dimensional seagulls has been cut from these three paintings and decoratively arranged in a graduating colour square in the centre of the frame.
They are attached to heavy watercolour paper within a white glazed deep box frame

The result is a graduated blue modern relief design revealing individual seagulls on closer inspection, with different shadows cast from the up-turned wings depending on the direction of the light.

Materials used:

Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion, and gold ink on watercolour paper, in a white glazed (glass) deep box frame
