Original artwork description:

The word iconic was invented for the Mussenden Temple.
It is world-famous and deservedly so.

This beautiful  18th century library looks out over the 120 foot cliffs over the North Atlantic towards the coast of Donegal. It can be seen for miles around. Apparently,  it was once possible to drive a carriage around the temple: however, coastal erosion has brought the cliff edge closer to the building!

There is an inscription around the building that reads: "Suave, mari magno turbantibus aequora ventis e terra magnum alterius spectare laborem." - "Tis pleasant, safely to behold from shore The troubled sailor, and hear the tempests roar."

ORIGINAL ART BY Emma Cownie – Finest quality oil painting on linen canvas, varnished – Only the highest quality archival fine oil paints are used on the surface. The surface has been treated with Gamvar gloss  varnish, to protect the painting.
READY TO HANG – Edges of the canvas are painted so the Art is ready to hang without a frame if required. Enquire about framing options.
