Original artwork description:

From my Welsh period. The 'rape' (exploitation, if you prefer) of land and women conspire in this early figurescape, which was drawing out various ideas. At the end of a tortuous painting I felt I reached something Raw and Real. The inclusion or exclusion of a comma completely alters the way the painting may be 'read'.

It was founded in sexy Gaia being invaded by tumultuous housing 'development' with all the inevitable consequences. And you might get a glimpse of my feelings in the bottom left hand corner.

I suggest you see it in conjunction with its companion piece 'Figurescape in lemon and violet'

Materials used:

Spectrum oil paint, knives, paste medium, recycled heavy wood support
