I painted this plein air piece of some abandoned farmhouses over two sessions on site on two successive days to try and get the light right. On both mornings, there was a palpable quietness which I felt a direct contrast to the hustle and bustle that must have surrounded the place back when it was a working farm over a hundred years or so ago.
After a few hours, the silence began to tell the story, but the light and colour provided a happy vista!
