"Abating" is a reflection on the healing of time passing; the peaceful feeling brought on by an abating storm, the intensity not forgotten, the flooding rains still a reminder, but a stillness has arrived to take their place. I depict these changing qualities in the sky to provoke a general feel, a representation of the marking events in our lives, where still visible is the distant sight of the abating storm, but also a sense of calm and hope of time changing.
