'A Wise Woman Once Said...' was exhibited at WOMAN'S ESSENCE MUSA International Art Space exhibition in Collaboration with UNESCO in Rome, in September 2020.
This work was selected in 2022 as part of Beulah Van Rensburg's top picks of portrait artworks. Beulah Van Rensburg is the founder of Van Rensburg Galleries in Hong Kong and Australia, Artistic Director at The Chateau d'Orquevaux Artist Residency in France and Artfinder curator.
This piece reflects serenity and wisdom. A beautiful piece that invites touch, she has a contemporary stippled teal patina with a hint of brown on the dress. She can be displayed in a variety of angles (front, side, or back). This work was professionally cast at MST Bronze in Toronto.
Classically trained as a figurative painter, I was inspired to create this piece directly from the model with full completion later in the studio. The original piece was created using WED water-based air-dry clay (no firing). Once leather-dry a silicone mold was made from which to produce a limited edition of 10. The edition will have a variety of patinas.
This piece is the second in the edition of only ten (2/10) signed, numbered, and stamped on the back right. She may be affixed to a base if desired, however, I prefer her to stand alone as shown.
Thank you for your interest in my work!
