Original artwork description:

Most of my paintings are inspired by the Scottish lochs, mountains and beaches but this work was inspired by a visit to France a couple of years ago. The villages were all so tranquil and in the afternoons particularly so. I love the old rough buildings with their lovely worn stonework and the various sized windows. Painted mainly in warm shades of terracotta it gives the impression of a mild summer day.
