This bright work depicts Corfu Town in the heat of summer. The sky is blue and hot, the houses baking in orange and ochre hues. The shadows beckon, hinting at mystery and coolness. An ancient town, Venetian perhaps at times, the ghosts of Marco Polo and Knights Templar. A jewel in the Adriatic, the haunt of Poseidon and sea nymphs. Church bells ring, voices echo. The sun is hot, like an oven.
The work is a perfect souvenir of the island and a wonderful gift.
It is 0.4 inches deep and can hang without being framed. Texture has been added to give extra depth.
