Parrots are very funny birds. They, like dogs, can rejoice and grieve, yearn, play, amuse and be cunning. It was these qualities that attracted people to parrots.
Most species have a very contrasting plumage color, which cannot fail to please the eye -they are red, yellow, blue or green.
Those parrots that do not fly well and spend most of their life on the ground are painted in greenish tones. This makes it easier for them to hide in the grass and bushes.
