This vibrant painting depicts a little cottage at the edge of a lochan. The water is very still, the moon has just risen and the flowers on the machair are adding little splashes of colour. The cottage is one of many of the old traditional stone houses which can be seen all over the Hebrides. The composition has been continued on the edges allowing the painting to be hung without framing if so desired.
