This is Bryan, he is playing Bach's Violin Sonata #1 on a violin handmade by his father Ernest Lant...maker of stringed instruments.

He featured in an exhibition alongside a chemist, physicist and astronomer.

I wanted to illustrated their respective strings of theories, things that are close to their hearts, their life's work...their equations or musical score in this instance.

Bryan is a very talented musician, he taught it prior to retirement.

I am fascinated by music scores...as I am with all manner of equations...and although I cannot begin to understand them, I think that they look beautiful in their complexities and creativity.
